Check refrigerant and charge via superheat or subcooling methods
Inspect evaporator and condenser coil for cleanliness
Acid wash the exterior coil
Tighten and inspect all electrical connections
Measure amp draws and voltage levels to manufacturer specifications
Check electrical disconnect box for overheating
Inspect condensate drain lines for leaks
Inspect fan blade for cracks and proper balance
Replace and/or clean filters, including washable and lifetime filter styles
Measure temperatures at both the supply and return registers for effectiveness and safety
Test reversing valve and defrost system (for heat pumps)
Check relays, contactors, and compressor performance
Check thermostat for temperature accuracy and programming
